The Government of the Canary Islands has dispatched this Monday a package of measures against the Middle East crisis that oscillates between tax charity and administrative science fiction. Under the pretext of ‘extraordinary and urgent need,’ the Governing Council has approved an expenditure of 29.8 million euros for the next hundred days; a figure that pales in comparison to the record revenue of the community and seeks, above all, for Madrid to cover half the bill. However, the true ‘bluff’ of the decree law lies not in what the Executive spends, but in what it demands as a shock solution: the boost to offshore wind.
