In the logistical framework of the cruise business, the comfort and safety of the thousands of tourists disembarking in the archipelago are supported by a public cost structure calculated down to the last cent. The Port Authority’s board of directors—signed by its president, Pedro Suárez López, on August 5, 2026—has approved the official commercial rates for providing and using equipment, materials and facilities intended for self-service passenger operations, approved at the session held on July 24, 2026.
Gangway and Quayside Logistics Costs
The tariff breakdown sets out the daily public prices applicable to quayside logistics. The mobile boarding and disembarkation gangway, equipped with a handrail and protective features, carries a rate of 80.18 euros per day, plus a fixed charge of 956.50 euros per operation for transport, assembly and dismantling. For the handling of checked baggage in ship-to-quay-to-ship operations, the rental of a conveyor-belt unit is set at 49.65 euros per day, while plastic pedestrian-control barriers cost 1.30 euros on the first day and 0.30 euros per day from the second day onward.
Prices for Security Arches and Scanners
Security screening at the terminals is organized around three types of specialized technical equipment. The scanner for screening unaccompanied baggage—in either fixed or mobile format—carries the highest daily rate in the catalog, set at 230.96 euros per day. Meanwhile, the scanner unit for carry-on baggage accompanied by passengers is priced at 69.86 euros per day, while the fixed metal-detection arch for screening people costs 32.80 euros per day. The associated technical regulations require clearly visible signage prohibiting people with pacemakers from passing through the arch, with screening instead carried out using handheld detectors.
Maritime Station Fees and Ancillary Services
The resolution also sets the charge for using enclosed infrastructure on an occasional basis. Making the temporary maritime station at the Heliport available costs 595.12 euros per calendar day, while the corresponding temporary maritime station at the Port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife Interchange is set at 561.26 euros per calendar day. If the Port Authority must exceptionally undertake the transport, loading, unloading, installation, dismantling and removal of the equipment using its own resources, an additional fee of 350.00 euros per operation will apply; mobile gangways are exempt because they have a specific logistics allocation.
