The Canary Islands’ corporate landscape has witnessed the consolidation, since September, of a major leadership transition within one of the archipelago’s most influential industrial dynasties. The Canary Islands-based Félix Santiago Melián business group has formalized a far-reaching change at the top. The widow of longtime businessman Félix Santiago Melián has taken control of the group’s transport, real estate development and agricultural operations. The appointment of Guadalupe Cubas Delgado is now cleared to proceed, with her assuming the role of joint and several administrator to steer these operational and asset-holding structures. Juan Carlos Santiago Cubas remains chief executive.
The restructuring directly affects the industrial and infrastructure backbone of the island conglomerate, a corporate network that for decades has participated in Gran Canaria’s main public and private construction projects. Among the changes is the group’s position in Félix Santiago Melián, the family’s flagship industrial company. It is joined by key operating entities involved in production, the supply of heavy materials and heavy logistics across the islands, including Hormigones Islas Canarias, Transportes Félix Santiago Melián and Maduplacan, which specializes in industrial carpentry and technical components for construction.
The broad transfer of executive powers also extends to the group’s real estate, tourism and asset-management activities. In this area, Guadalupe Cubas Delgado assumes responsibility as joint and several administrator of Promociones Fincas Unidas, Costa Llano, Residencial Playa Canaria and Soluciones y Diseños Inmobiliarios. These four companies hold significant interests in real estate assets, residential property sales and the development of urban and rural land across Gran Canaria.
The change in legal representation is completed by Cubas Delgado’s arrival at the helm of diversified companies within the group. These include the agricultural operator Conagrican, focused on primary production on the islands; the investment and holding company Fegrisan; and The Berkelium Division Company. All termination filings and subsequent appointments were formalized simultaneously in the relevant registers on August 24, 2026.
This sequence of moves establishes Guadalupe Cubas Delgado as the central figure and the new administrator with decision-making authority over the group’s day-to-day management and business operations. Following Félix Santiago Melián’s removal as joint and several administrator of these eleven companies, the group is realigning its balance of power to address operational challenges in the concrete, public works and property development sectors in the Canary Islands. Cubas Delgado’s formal assumption of control ensures the continuity of the companies’ commercial commitments to suppliers, public authorities and end customers at a decisive moment for the region’s construction industry.
