Armas Mead family continues to adjust corporate architecture in the Canaries
The Armas Mead family, the historic owner of Naviera Armas before the company was taken over by its creditors and investment funds, continues to adjust the architecture of its corporate assets after leaving the operations of the maritime transport group. The family has agreed to modify the company bylaws to move the registered addresses of several of its reference holding firms.
Naviera Areca and Red Trousers relocate to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
Specifically, the companies Naviera Areca, S.A. and Red Trousers, S.L. have formalized the change of their registered office to establish their new corporate headquarters at Doctor José Guerra Navarro Street, number 6, second floor, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Both firms are part of the core through which the family manages its equity stakes, residual assets and investment projects after divesting from the main shipping business. The move is intended to centralize the administration of its investment vehicles in the Gran Canaria capital.
Executive framework centers on Joaquín Viejo Belón
On the executive side, the organizational chart of this holding group is supported by Joaquín Viejo Belón, a trusted professional of the family who acts as a central element in the governance of its companies. Viejo Belón has amassed a record of 115 corporate appointments and currently holds 49 active positions spread across 20 companies linked to the family. He acts as attorney-in-fact for key firms including Gestión Inmobiliaria Mead, S.L., Gestora de Cartera de Inversores AAA, S.L. and Hoya del Alcalde, S.L., as well as Naviera Areca and Red Trousers themselves.
Recurring powers granted across the group’s historical companies
The recurring grant of powers in favor of Viejo Belón also extends to a broad set of historical group companies, such as Naviera de Taliarte, Naviera de Tasarte, Naviera del Monte, Naviera del Roque, Naviera de Melenara, Naviera Bandama, Naviera de Bentayga, Naviera Cíes, Auxiliares de Mantenimientos Marítimos, Autopistas Canarias del Mar, and Líneas Armas. The ratification of this powers structure consolidates a unified management model for administering the real estate, financial and investment portfolio that the Armas Mead family manages in this new business phase.
