March begins on the 1st with the movement of 6,499 passengers in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The Mein Schiff 7 docks from 07:00 to 21:00 under the management of Hamilton y Cía. S.A., sharing the dock with the MSC Musica, which operates from 08:00 to 23:00 managed by MSC Shipping España, S.L.U. On the 2nd, activity intensifies with 10,082 cruise passengers and the appearance of Fred Olsen, S.A., which consigns the Aidaluna in San Sebastián de La Gomera (08:00-18:00) and the Costa Fortuna in Tenerife (10:00-21:30), the latter alongside A. Pérez y Cía, S.L. Noteworthy in La Palma is the premiere of the Mein Schiff Relax (08:00-19:00) with Hamilton y Cía., while Vapores Suardiaz Sur-Atlántico handles the call of La Belle des Oceans on the Beautiful Island.

On the 3rd, it is a day of great volume (11,404 passengers) where Intercruises Port Operations takes the lead in Tenerife with the Marella Explorer 2 (06:00-23:00). La Palma experiences a ‘triple combo’ mainly managed by A. Pérez y Cía (Costa Fortuna and Aidaluna) and Hamilton (Mein Schiff 7), while in La Gomera, Incargo S.L. debuts with the Wind Star. The 4th registers 13,170 people. A. Pérez y Cía manages the arrival of the giant AidaCosma in Tenerife at 05:00 AM. In La Palma, Juan Cabrera Martín S.A. acts as the consignor for the Marella Explorer 2, while Incargo repeats with the Wind Star.

The 5th marks one of the peaks of the month with 16,555 passengers. A. Pérez y Cía leads the operation of the Iona in Tenerife and the Azura and MSC Musica in La Palma (the latter supported by Berge Marítima S.L.). It is a historic day for El Hierro, where Hamilton y Cía. manages the call of the Europa at the port of La Estaca from 08:00 to midnight. On the 6th, Tenerife concentrates the flow with the Mein Schiff Relax (Hamilton), the Marella Voyager (Intercruises) and the Azamara Journey (Incargo). The 7th closes the week with 13,563 passengers, highlighted by the call of the Mein Schiff 7 and the Europa in Tenerife and La Palma respectively, both under the umbrella of Hamilton y Cía.

After a quiet 8th with the MSC Musica in Tenerife, on the 9th, A. Pérez y Cía resumes activity with the Aidaluna in La Palma and the Costa Fortuna in Tenerife. The 11th mobilizes 11,618 passengers; Fred Olsen, S.A. consigns the Silver Spirit in La Palma, while Suardiaz manages La Belle des Oceans in Tenerife. On the 13th, the scheme of being a major operations center repeats in Tenerife (Mein Schiff Relax, Marella Voyager and Azura), while Suardiaz moves La Belle des Oceans to La Gomera. The 14th is key for the arrival of the Sun Princess in Tenerife (06:00-18:00), consigned by Canarship S.L., while Hamilton takes the Mein Schiff 7 to San Sebastián de La Gomera.

The record of 20,000 passengers

On the 15th, MSC Shipping España manages its flagship in Tenerife alongside the Mein Schiff 7 (Hamilton). On the 16th, A. Pérez y Cía dominates the day with the AidaDiva, AidaPerla and Costa Fortuna in Tenerife. On the 18th, Juan Cabrera Martín S.A. operates again in La Palma with the Marella Explorer 2. On the 19th, the climax of the month is reached with 20,071 passengers and 7 vessels. Tenerife becomes a hive of activity with the Iona, Aidaluna, Seven Seas Voyager (Intercruises) and Azamara Journey (Incargo). In La Palma, Berge Marítima operates the MSC Musica and A. Pérez y Cía the Azura. The 20th maintains the intensity with the premiere of the Explora I in Tenerife (MSC Shipping España) and the Seven Seas Voyager in La Palma (Juan Cabrera Martín).

The last days of the month show a shift toward luxury and expedition cruising. On the 21st, Fred Olsen, S.A. consigns the Corinthian in La Palma and the Aidaluna in La Gomera. On the 22nd, Noatum Maritime Spain S.A. takes center stage by consigning the Corinthian in Tenerife. On the 24th, A. Pérez y Cía manages a massive day in Tenerife with the Arvia, Costa Pacifica and Marella Explorer 2. Towards the end of the month, luxury takes over the docks: on the 27th, A. Pérez y Cía operates the Costa Favolosa, AidaStella and Spirit of Adventure. The end of the month is highlighted by the Ponant shipping company, with Noatum Maritime consigning the Le Bellot, Le Bougainville and Le Lyrial in Tenerife on the 29th and 30th. March bids farewell on the 31st with the Le Bougainville in El Hierro (Fred Olsen, S.A.), the National Geographic Orion in La Palma (Miller y Cía. S.A.) and the Costa Fortuna in La Gomera.

There are people who don’t need to raise their voice to be noticed. He belongs to that rare breed of stubborn observers who understand power as a board to be studied in silence, piece by piece, until it becomes clear who is really moving the pieces. A journalist and analyst by instinct and a storyteller by conviction, his career has unfolded within the folds of power in Tenerife, never losing sight of the Canary Islands, where he learned that the great narratives begin at the margins.
