The Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has initiated the mandatory public information process regarding the request submitted by La Esponja del Teide. The purpose of the procedure is the modification through the expansion of an existing administrative concession. The proposal includes an increase of 282.14 square meters over the original granted area for the construction of an industrial building. The area affected by this expansion request is located in the Fishing Dock of the Port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The new infrastructure that the holding company plans to build on this plot aims specifically at the development and operation of a terminal dedicated to waste treatment, encompassing both liquid and solid types resulting from activities and facilities related to port and industrial traffic. La Esponja del Teide is consolidating itself in the ports of Tenerife as a corporation with 100% Canary capital, with a strong territorial presence through its operational bases in Tenerife and Gran Canaria. The company bases its activities on a highly specialized workforce that exceeds 400 direct professionals, with a volume that significantly rises to reach 1,500 jobs linked directly and indirectly due to the development of strategic agreements and the establishment of Temporary Business Unions (UTE) with other firms in the sector. As a pioneering organization in the provision of comprehensive services, the entity diversifies its catalog of solutions to respond to critical needs of the port environment. Its areas of action range from the cleaning and maintenance of all types of buildings to auxiliary services, particularly standing out for its operational capacity in areas of high ecological value such as waste management, urban cleaning, and the development of environmental services.
