The Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration has taken a definitive step in the outsourcing of protection services for its key infrastructures in the Canary Islands. The Provincial Directorate of Las Palmas of the Social Institute of the Navy (ISM) formalized the award of the contract for the surveillance and security service of the Casa del Mar in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. This involves a provider with strong regional roots in a private security market characterized by increasingly intense competition.

This institutional success consolidates the leadership position of Cansegur within the corporate security market in the islands. The company has achieved significant milestones in the realm of local government, standing out prominently as the awarded company to assume the surveillance and security of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria. This contract, structured in a lot worth 18,798,680.30 euros and with a multi-year duration of five years, officially came into effect on January 1, 2026, and is scheduled to conclude on December 31, 2030, thus securing the company’s order book in the medium term.

Casa del Mar in Las Palmas

The bidding process attracted a noteworthy volume of applications for this type of territorial public contracts. The contracting authority received a total of six economic and technical offers, a level of competition that demonstrates the interest of companies in the sector to capture stable contracts linked to the peripheral administration of the State. The process culminated in the victory of Cansegur, a security company based in the Gran Canaria capital, specifically on Avenida Juan XXIII. The operational proximity of the awarded company aligns with the trend of provincial delegations prioritizing operators with immediate response capacity and local logistical deployment in the island environment.

The financial proposal of Cansegur that ultimately secured the contract was set at 209,669.85 euros. This amount will fund the services framed within the codes of the Common Vocabulary Classification of Public Contracts (CPV) related to surveillance services, security services, and alarm system monitoring services. The fulfillment of these functions is a priority to ensure the normal operation of the Casa del Mar, a facility that centralizes assistance, administrative management, and social services for the maritime workers and their families in the eastern province of the Canary Islands, under the NUTS ES705 geographic service code.

This institutional success consolidates the leadership position of Cansegur within the corporate security market in the islands. The company has achieved significant milestones in local government, prominently standing out as the awarded firm to assume the surveillance and security of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria. This major contract, structured in a lot worth 18,798,680.30 euros and having a multi-year duration of five years, officially commenced on January 1, 2026, and is scheduled to terminate on December 31, 2031, thereby securing the company’s order book in the medium term.

The administrative file of the Casa del Mar was signed in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria by the Provincial Director of the Social Institute of the Navy, José Julián Suárez Suárez. The formalization of the contract closes the administrative cycle opened after the evaluation process of the specifications, in a sectorial context where wage costs derived from collective agreements of private security and the demands for operational technification pressure tender margins. With this resolution, the Ministry of Inclusion guarantees the uninterrupted coverage of its critical dependencies in León and Castillo against usual operational risks.

The regulatory stability and continuity of general service contracts of the State in the port and island area are decisive for the competitiveness of the public sector. By retaining the service with a local firm as opposed to nationally established corporations, the provincial direction strengthens the Canary business fabric in the physical security segment. The formalization announcement, registered with the reference BOE-B-2026-16443, marks the beginning of the service execution period under the strict quality control standards set in the technical specification document of the state agency.
