The Port Authority of Las Palmas has officially announced the update of commercial rates for the provision of goods at the Border Control Post (PCF) of the Port of Arrecife. This decision, made by the board of directors on December 18, 2025, entails a **linear increase of 74%** over prices that had remained frozen since 2013.
The measure responds to the **need to cover the operational deficit** that both the APLP and the Lanzarote Chamber have been facing in the joint management of this service. According to a technical report from November 2025, the annual revenue for 2024 barely reached 10,488.89 euros, while operational costs amounted to 18,250.67 euros. The adjustment aims to comply with the mandate of the Consolidated Text of the Ports Act, which requires that these **private nature tariffs contribute to self-financing** and are not lower than the actual cost of the service.
With the new fee schedule, the use of facilities increases from **38.20 to 66.47 euros per unit**. Regarding the handling of non-palletized full containers, the cost for 20-foot containers is set at 278.40 euros (up from the previous 160 euros), and for 40-foot containers, it is set at 467.19 euros (up from 268.50 euros). Other services such as handling palletized goods and bulk materials are set at **7.31 euros/tm and 10.44 euros/tm**, respectively.
Moreover, **storage fees for immobilized consignments** also see the same increase of 74%. In cold storage, the first 15 days will cost **77.78 euros/tm**, while in dry storage the price will be **44.54 euros/tm**. The minimum monthly storage fee is established at 11.14 euros/tm for both modalities. These new amounts are to be applied immediately following their official publication to ensure the economic viability of the Lanzarote inspection post.
