Puertos Canarios will celebrate this Friday, June 5, at the Port of Pasito Blanco, in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, a new Day of Open Ports, an initiative designed to bring autonomous port infrastructures closer to local residents, visitors, and families, from a close, educational, and participatory perspective.
The activity will be carried out under the slogan “Get to know your Canary ecport” and will allow participants to tour the facilities through guided visits, learn about technologies, equipment, and innovative practices related to environmental care, and also enjoy the play “Stories of Salt,” a small-format show aimed at all audiences.
The managing director of Puertos Canarios, José Gilberto Moreno, highlighted that this proposal responds to the aim of opening ports to the public and sharing, in a simple and friendly manner, all the work being done in favor of sustainability, safety, and the continuous improvement of these spaces. “We want those who come to Pasito Blanco to feel the port as a close, lively, and useful place, a space that also belongs to them and where work is done every day with the general interest in mind,” he stated.

Moreno also emphasized that Pasito Blanco is an ideal location to continue showcasing the Canary Ecoports project and the evolution of port infrastructures towards models that are more responsible with the marine environment and more connected to their social surroundings. “These days allow us to explain, with real examples and activities for all audiences, how we are progressing towards more sustainable, more open, and more community-oriented ports,” he added. The event is being held in collaboration with the Pasito Blanco Marina and the Town Council of the Villa de San Bartolomé de Tirajana.
With this event in Pasito Blanco, Puertos Canarios continues to strengthen a line of work that combines outreach, culture, and environmental awareness, inviting the public to view the port in a different way: as a space for meeting, learning, and shared future.
