Defence will issue a new public procurement file
The Ministry of Defence has launched a new public contracting process aimed at sustaining the naval fleet based in the Gran Canaria capital. The Intendancy of Las Palmas has put out to tender a framework agreement for the open supply of touch-up paints for corrective maintenance and preservation work on the Maritime Action Ships (Buques de Acción Marítima (BAM)). The procurement has an estimated value of €447,945 and is set for two years, structured into two specific lots covering both the platforms and the decks and interiors of the Royal Navy units’ warships. The Intendancy of Las Palmas opens a two-year framework agreement to ensure the corrective maintenance and preservation of the BAM fleet supported by the military Arsenal.
Up to seven operators selected; evaluation based on price
The tender is handled through an open procedure and allows the participation of up to seven economic operators. The Port of Las Palmas will act as the logistical reference point for delivery of the materials at the facilities of the Military Arsenal, whose operations comply with the environmental standards of the ISO 14001 certification. The award of both lots will primarily hinge on the economic factor, with 95% of the weighting assigned to price, while the remaining 5% will be split between improvements in delivery timelines (3%) and the extension of the warranty period (2%).
Deadlines and submission of bids
Companies in the nautical and industrial sector interested in taking part in this file must submit their proposals electronically before 11:00 on 24 August 2026. The opening of the financial envelopes will take place on the same day in the Boardroom of the Intendancy of Las Palmas.
