The Ministry opens a one-month filing period for objections
The Ministry for the Ecological Transition is opening a one-month period for submitting statements so affected parties can review the provisional definition of the public domain and its easements. The Tenerife Provincial Coastal Service has formally launched the process to correct the demarcation of the maritime-terrestrial public domain in a strategic section of the coastline in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The action has express authorization from the Directorate-General for the Coast and the Sea, through an official resolution issued on 18 June 2026.
Affected coastal section
The administrative procedure directly affects the section of coast between the Barranco de Moriscos and the Norte Espaldón, in the municipal district of the Tenerife capital. The technical demarcation specifically includes the vertices identified in the demarcation file, corresponding to the groups of milestones M-264 to M-277, M-179 to M-206, M-226 to M-230, and M-232 to M-239.
Public display period
In compliance with Royal Decree 876/2014, of 10 October, which approves the General Coastal Regulations, the state administration has opened a public information period lasting one month. This timeframe will start to run from the day after the official notice is published in the Official Gazette of the Province (BOP).
During this month, any citizen, owner, or interested person may visit the file in order to review the map showing the provisional delimitation of the public domain area, as well as the corresponding protected easements. Within this time window, all allegations and claims deemed appropriate may also be submitted to defend their rights and interests.
To facilitate participation and transparency, the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge has also enabled access to the file in digital format via its official website. Through channels of the national public network (such as the Redsara platform), citizens can download, electronically, both the authorization and the initiation of the file, as well as the georeferenced files of the plans and the precise coordinates of the projected demarcation.
