The Official State Gazette has formalized the awarding of health surveillance services for the Social Institute of the Navy (ISM). The contract guarantees medical coverage for the workers of the provincial directorate, the Maritime Fishing Vocational Training Institute, and local directorates. The primary focus is on the crew of the vessel Esperanza del Mar, an essential unit in high seas hospital assistance that maintains its logistical base at the capital’s docks.
The tender has been divided into two technical fronts to ensure service effectiveness. Lot 1, focused on general medical examinations, has been awarded to the firm Aspy Prevención S.L.U. following a process that attracted three bidders. This company, with a strong presence in the occupational safety sector, will manage routine check-ups for maritime personnel. The award of this block has been finalized under a structure of unit costs for each intervention carried out on the public employees and sailors assigned to the center.
The control of supplementary tests and those of greater technical complexity will remain in local hands. The Urgent Care Clinic of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, located in the strategic area of León and Castillo Street, has secured Lot 2 for a value of 23,575.50 euros. The Gran Canaria hospital was the only bidder in this section, solidifying its role as a reference provider for institutions linked to the port sector and social security on the island.
Service sector companies in the port environment interpret this move as a consolidation of administrative activity after years of international health instability. The Provincial Director of ISM, José Julián Suárez, has signed the formalization of files that ensure the operability of Esperanza del Mar for future campaigns. Health surveillance becomes another logistical asset for companies operating in La Luz, ensuring that both land and sea personnel meet the necessary medical standards for fishing and rescue activities.
