Under the vaults of the Parish of San Juan Bautista in Tenerife, there was a meeting where military veterans and brotherhood traditions converged in a dialogue about identity and sacrifice. In his conference titled ‘Between the Sword and the Cross: Shared Values and Parallels between the Army and Brotherhoods’, the Lieutenant General Chief of the Canary Command, Julio Salom Herrera, detailed the unbreakable ties between both institutions, emphasizing that discipline, commitment, and spirit of service are pillars that support both the defense of our sovereignty and the depth of our faith. The event, organized by the Brotherhood of the Blessed Christ of the Falls, transcended the ceremonial to become a reflection on duty, culminating with the Lieutenant General’s signature in the Book of Honor, a gesture that seals the union of two worlds that, although distinct in their forms, converge in a shared dedication to the common good.
